Where does your information come from, and how do I report an error?

Not a government service

Conservative States is an independent, privately operated service run by Conservative States, LLC. It is not a government app and is not affiliated with any government agency, legislature, elected official or political party.

Where the information comes from

• Bills, text, amendments, status, sponsors, committee referrals, hearings and roll call votes are public records from each legislature. We receive them from LegiScan, a legislative data service covering all 50 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Congress, which sends us updates throughout the day.
• Congressional committee meetings come from Congress.gov, the Library of Congress's official site.
• Committee memberships and legislators' contact details come from Open States and the legislatures' own member directories.

Our Where Our Information Comes From page, at my.conservativestates.app/sources, lists every legislature's official website so you can check anything against the official record. In the app, open Settings and choose About our information.

What is our own work

Plain-English summaries, analyses, support, oppose or watch recommendations, and the letters we help you draft are written by Conservative States with the help of artificial intelligence, from a conservative perspective. They are our opinion, not a statement from any government body, and not legal advice.

How fresh is it?

Updates arrive throughout the day, but can take a few hours to reach the app after the legislature records them. The legislature's official website is always the authoritative record.

Reporting an error

Email support@conservativestates.app with the bill number, your state, and what looks wrong, with a screenshot if you have one. We check it against the legislature's record and correct what we can.
