What is the AI analysis, and what does it include?

The AI analysis is a deeper look at a bill than the short summary. It is written from a conservative perspective by a multi-stage AI process that reads the bill's text.

Getting an analysis

On a bill's page, choose Get AI Analysis on the website, or Generate on the Analysis tab in the app. It takes a minute or so. Leave the page open, or come back to it: the analysis is saved to your account.

What it contains

Our recommendation comes first: Support this bill, Oppose this bill or Worth monitoring, with a sentence saying why.

Then the analysis in three parts:

1. What it does: the bill's actual effect, in plain words.
2. Why it matters to you: who it affects and how.
3. The honest caveat: what the analysis could not tell, where reasonable people disagree, or what to watch for.

Choose Read the full analysis for the complete write-up. In Tennessee there is also a Statute changes view showing how the bill would change state law. See the article on statute changes.

Your analyses

Every analysis you generate is listed in Bill Analyses on the website and in the Analyses view of the app's Bills tab, with search and filters by category, sponsor and stance.

Refining and re-running

• Refine with feedback (website) or Reanalyze (app) runs the analysis again with your guidance, for example a point you want weighed more carefully. Each bill gets one refinement, and it does not count toward your yearly limit.
• This analysis is out of date appears when the bill has been substantially amended since your analysis. Run the analysis again analyzes the bill as it now stands.

See the article on AI limits for how many analyses you can run.
