Conservative States

How do push notifications and hearing reminders work in the app?

The app can send bill alerts to your phone and remind you before hearings on bills you follow.

Push notifications are available in the iPhone, iPad and Android apps.

Turning push on

  1. Allow notifications when the app asks. If you said no earlier, turn them on for Conservative States in your phone's own Settings app.
  2. In the app, open Settings (tap your initials on Home, then Settings) and switch on Push notifications under Notifications.

Push carries the same bill alerts as email, for the bills whose bell you turned on. See the article on email alerts.

Push goes to the phone or tablet you are signed in on.

Hearing reminders

With push on, you can be reminded before a hearing on any bill you follow:

  1. In Settings, under Notifications, switch on Hearing reminders.
  2. Under Remind me, choose The day before or The morning of.
  3. Under At, choose the time. Times are in your state capitol's time zone, because that is where the hearing happens.

The default is 7:00 PM the day before. If you choose The morning of with an afternoon or evening time, the app moves the reminder to 7:00 AM so it arrives before the hearing.

Hearing reminders arrive only as push notifications. On the website, hearings for your bills appear on the Capitol Calendar and in This week at the Capitol on Home.

Not getting notifications?

  1. Check your phone's notification settings for Conservative States, and that Focus or Do Not Disturb is not holding them.
  2. Check that Push notifications is on in the app's Settings and that the bill's bell is on.
  3. Sign out and back in on the device.
  4. If you signed in on a new phone, alerts now go to that phone, since an account can be signed in on one phone at a time.
