What is a round, and how do I ask supporters to write again?
Supporters write to each official once per round on an issue page; an Owner starts a new round to let everyone write again, while bill pages open again on their own when the bill moves.
Each supporter writes to each official once. What "once" means depends on the kind of page.
Bill pages: one letter per stage
On a page about a bill, a supporter can write to each official once while the bill is at the same stage: the same committee, or the floor of one chamber. When the bill moves to a new committee or to the floor, the page opens up again by itself and supporters can write to the new recipients. You do not need to do anything.
If a supporter tries to write again at the same stage, they are told they have already written about this bill at this stage.
Issue pages: one letter per round
An issue page has no bill to move, so it uses rounds instead. A page starts at round 1. Each supporter writes to each official once per round. A supporter who has already written sees that they can write again when your organization starts a new round.
When you want everyone to write again, for example before a vote or after new developments:
- Open the issue page from its campaign.
- Find the Round card (for example Round 1). It reads "Each supporter writes once per round. Start a new round to ask everyone to write again."
- Click Send again (new round).
- Confirm with Start round.
Every supporter can then write again, including to officials they already wrote to. The card shows the new round number. Rounds cannot be undone, so start one only when you mean to.
Starting a new round needs approval rights, which today only the Owner has.
Letters keep their round. The 30-recipient limit and the 100-letters-a-day limit still apply in every round.
Telling supporters
Starting a round does not email anyone. To bring supporters back, send an alert that links to the page. See the articles on alerts.
If this does not solve it, email support@conservativestates.app and tell us your organization's name.
