What happens if our organization is paused, and what are test and demo organizations?

Active and paused organizations

Our team sets each organization's status. Organizations do not change it themselves.

While an organization is active, everything works as normal. If an organization is paused, for example at the end of an agreement:

• Staff cannot sign in. The sign-in page says "No organization was found at this address."
• Public pages at your address, such as action pages and supporter sign-up, stop working.
• Partner API keys and webhooks stop.

Your data is kept while the organization is paused. When it is reactivated, staff sign in as before.

Demo organizations

A demo organization is filled with made-up bills, supporters and alerts so people can try the portal. A demo organization never sends email, including alerts, digests and report deliveries, even when someone chooses Send. Its supporters are fictional.

Test organizations

Our team can mark an organization as a test account, for example while setting up a new customer. Test organizations work normally but are left out of our billing records.
