Conservative States

What is the bill page an organization shared with me?

Organizations can publish a public page for each bill they show on their website, with their position, the bill's status, its next hearing and a link to take action.

An organization can share a public page about a bill it is following, on its own Conservative States pages or inside its own website. You do not need an account to read it.

What the page shows

  • The organization's position, labeled with the organization's name, such as "Example Taxpayers Alliance's position," with the bill number and whether the organization supports or opposes it. Some pages also show how high a priority the bill is for the organization, and a statement in the organization's own words.
  • A one-sentence summary of what the bill does, or the bill's official title.
  • Status: where the bill stands now and the date of its last action.
  • Next hearing, when one is scheduled, with the date and place.
  • The bill's details: its sponsor and co-sponsors, how it has moved through the legislature, and its documents, such as the bill text and amendments.

The buttons

  • Take action opens the organization's action page for the bill, where you can write to the officials who are deciding on it.
  • Official page opens the bill on the legislature's own website, the authoritative record.
  • Open full page appears when the bill is shown inside another website, and opens the full page in a new tab.

Good to know

  • The position, priority and statement are the organization's own. Questions about them belong with the organization.
  • Bill status and documents come from the legislature's official records, through LegiScan. Updates can take a little time to appear, so check the official page before relying on a detail.
  • The summary is written with the help of artificial intelligence. Read the bill itself for the exact wording.
  • Organizations only publish pages for bills they choose to show. If a bill page says it cannot be found, the organization may have stopped showing that bill.
  • If you see "Too many requests just now. Please try again in a minute," wait a moment and reload.
