Why is there a Conservative States form on an organization's own website?
Organizations can place their action pages on their own websites; the form inside is run by Conservative States, so your account, letter and privacy work the same way there.
Many organizations show their action pages right on their own websites, often with a Take action button that opens the form in a window on the page. The form itself comes from Conservative States, the service the organization uses to run its campaigns. That is why you may see "Your details are kept by Conservative States for this organization" at the bottom of the form.
Signing up or signing in inside the form
It works just like the organization's full action page. Choose I'm new here to create a free supporter account with your name, email, a password and your home address, or I have an account to sign in. There is a quick automated human check, and the box to receive the organization's updates is yours to check or uncheck.
If you are already signed in on the organization's own Conservative States pages in this browser, you may see a button such as Already signed in with Example Taxpayers Alliance? Continue with that account. Choosing it opens a small window where you choose Continue as your name. If your browser blocks that window, sign in in the form instead.
Sending your letter
You choose recipients, edit the letter and send it the same way as on the full page. If you have not connected Gmail or Outlook, the form offers Connect Gmail or Connect Outlook, which opens a sign-in window for your email account. Otherwise, choose Open my email app to send it from your email app, or Copy the letter instead, and then come back and choose Yes, I sent it.
Signing out and staying signed in
Signing in inside the form keeps you signed in there for a while, not forever. When it ends you will see "Your sign-in on this page ended. Please sign in again." To sign out sooner, choose Not you? Sign out at the bottom of the form.
If the form is not working
Choose Open this page in a new tab at the bottom of the form. The full action page opens on the organization's Conservative States pages, and everything works there too. This also helps if your browser blocks windows or storage inside other websites.
Conservative States subscribers: inside a form on another website, sign in with Open this page in a new tab and then choose Have a Conservative States subscription? Sign in with it.
Your privacy on the organization's website
When you read the organization's bills on its website, it learns how many people viewed each bill and clicked Take action. Those counts are tied to a random identifier for your browser tab that disappears when you close it, and never to your name or account.
If this does not solve it, contact the organization you signed up with. Their staff can reach us on your behalf.
